The new game is called Fallout: New Vegas and is scheduled to come out sometime in 2010 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. According to Bethesda, Obsidian will be handling the programming this time around. For those not in the know, some of the developers at Obsidian formerly worked at Black Isle on the original Fallout games. So, what does this mean? Well, it sounds like the game will likely use the Fallout 3 graphics engine, but will be helmed by some of the original Fallout team, which could mean some interesting story choices. The game isn't a direct sequel to last year's Fallout 3, but should play similar. Due to the truncated development time we expect similar graphics and slight gameplay tweaks, but until they officially show off the new game we're in the dark with the rest of you.
