Right now Nintendo is holding a press conference in Japan. We'll update this space with the information as it flows in.
1) Virtual Console games will be priced as follows:
NES: 500 Yen
SNES: 800 Yen
N64: 1000 Yen
That translates into roughly $5 for NES, $8 for SNES, and $10 for N64.
2) 30 Virtual Console games will be available at launch from Nintendo and 30 more from the TurboGrafx-16 and Genesis for a total of 60 games at launch. About 10 more will be added every month after.
3) The Virtual Console will play MSX games as well, which most likely means we'll see Metal Gear.
4) Gamers can pay for the games via credit card or points, which will be sold at retailers.
5) Wii launches in Japan on December 2 for 25,000 yen.
6) Prices for accessories have been announced. The classic controller will be 1800 yen. The nunchuk attachment will be 1800 yen. The Wiimote itself will be 3800 yen. So, roughly $20 for the first 2 and $40 for the Wiimote in U.S. dollars.
7) Included in the box for the Japanese launch is: 1 Wii, 1 Wiicon strap, 1 Nunchuck controller, 1 AC adaptor, 1 AV cable, 1 stand, 1 support plate, 1 sensor bar, 1 sensor bar stand, 2 AA batteries (thanks Jonnyram from the forums)
8) It appears Wii Sports will be sold separately in Japan whereas in the US it's included with the system. They will be charged 4800 Yen for the game.
9) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will launch the same day as the Wii in Japan.
10) 16 titles from 10 different companies will be available at launch
11) Wii Sports will include baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, and boxing.
12) Nintendo of Japan will have 4 launch titles. They are: Wii Sports, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, WarioWare, and (wait for it...wait for it!) Pokemon Battle Revolution!
13) New videos of Wii games are available now on Nintendo of Japan's web site at: Click
14) Wii.com has gone active with all sorts of new movies and information. There's a cool segment where it shows that each player will have the ability to customize his or her own character to use in games like Wii Sports! Check it out!
15) Built into the system are different Wii Channels. There's a photo channel that allows you edit and change photos (looks like fun!) that you can then e-mail to other people. The character customization channel lets you change your character's look. The weather channel of course shows you forecasts and maps. This seems like it has a very cool interface and you can zoom out to see the entire globe and in typical Nintendo fashion you can even give it a good spin. There's also a News channel and of course you can browse the Internet. There will be a shopping channel as well, but at this point I'm not sure if that's strictly Nintendo stuff (would be very cool) or if it's a generic service.
16) A list of Virtual Console developers has been released. Some of the companies that have signed on are: Konami, Atlus, Capcom, Sega, Sunsoft, Jaleco, Tecmo, Taito, Kemco, Takara, Chun Soft, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, HAL Labs, Banpresto, Paon, Hudson, Irem, and Koei.
17) We have confirmation that Dragon Quest Swords will not make it out in Japan until 2007. It was previously announced as a launch title.
18) Super Paper Mario is listed as a Wii title now. It's official! And it shows up as a 2007 release.
18) An odd detail just showed up when looking at video and screens of Zelda. In the past Link has always been left handed, but now it appears he swings the sword with his right hand. Of course this is primarily due to the fact that most people are right handed and they'll hode the wiimote in their right hand, so it does make sense. Perhaps Nintendo will have a custom feature so you can choose which hand to swing with?
19) Launch Titles for Japan:
Caduceus Neo
Elebits
Machikuru Domino
Necro-Nesia
Super Monkey Ball
Wing Island
Uki Uki Party Taikai
Swing Golf Panya
Cororinpa
SD Gundam Revolution
Ennichi no Tatsujin

Wii Sports
Odoru Made in Wario
