Game Informer revealed today that Red Steel will be launching with the Nintendo Revolution later this year. Their site shows off the cover of the May issue of GI which should be hitting subscribers as early as today. According to GI, Red Steel is being created by the Ubisoft Paris team, made up of industry veterans who worked on franchises like Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, and Far Cry Instincts. The cover of the magazine is very simple, showing only a pistol and a knife/sword. In the reflection is the Revolution's unique motion-sensored controller.

Some pics of the magazine have hit overseas web sites, but due to copyright laws we are unable to share these with you. From the screens we can tell the game is a first person shooter. The graphic style is somewhat realistic and the game will undoubtedly earn at least a T if not an M rating. The screens of the game look very impressive and should silence many critics that believe the Revolution won't be able to compete graphically. The magazine also shows how holding the controller in different ways will impact the on-screen action. In one example, twisting the remote twists the hand of the character on-screen, thus allowing for different shooting styles. We imagine that similar techniques will be used for the other weapons.

This is just the first glimpse at a bevy of new information that will be surfacing in the coming weeks leading up to a full blowout of Revolution information at E3 in May. As always, we'll have more as we get it.
