Mr. Miyamoto, beloved creator of Nintendo's biggest franchises, was recently visiting France to accept an award. Several news outlets had the chance to interview him and while many of the questions were typical run-of-the-mill, his answers were surprisingly revealing. When it comes to Zelda: Twilight Princess (still coming to the GameCube), he mentioned to Nintendo of Europe, "I would say that we are progressing well with completing it.” “And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller.” So, after all these months of speculation, it turns out that the game will use the Revolution's unique controller when played on that system. This could be why the game was recently pushed back to Fall 2006. Will it launch the same day as Revolution? We don't know that answer yet. Of course, the next obvious question is exactly how will Nintendo's innovative controller enhance a game like Zelda? If you stop and think about it for a few minutes I'm sure you could come up with a variety of cool techniques. Luckily for us, Miyamoto hints at what's in the works. Talking to another European press outlet, when he was asked, "What is the best new idea that has been worked into the new Zelda?", Miyamoto replied with a smirk on his face, "You know that the Revolution also plays GameCube games? Well, in the case of Twilight Princess we are going to do something extra with that." When pressed further on the subject, Miyamoto chuckled and said, "Hmmm....one word: boomerang."

In addition to this information, a reliable source on Gaming Age Forums has revealed that you'll be able to use the new controller to aim the bow & arrow while riding the horse. This makes absolute sense since you'll be able to simply point and shoot with the new controller. Other uses, like the grappling hook, or sword fighting seem plausible as well.
