EB Games & GameStop seem to think so.

Earlier today both EB Games and GameStop changed the release date for ESPN NFL 2K5. Originally scheduled to ship for the XBox and PS2 on August 11, the game is now listed as shipping on July 20. It wasn't too long ago that Sega announced the game would retail for a staggering $19.99 to compete with Madden. Now it appears Sega may have one-upped EA yet again by releasing NFL 2K5 a full 2 weeks before Madden. No official announcement has come from Sega yet, but we expect a confirmation or a rebuttal soon enough. We'll keep you updated as the football saga continues to unfold.
