First Look: The Simpsons: Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror (GBC)
Battle through the Treethouse of Horror in THQ's Simpson adventure.

Oddly enough, as popular as The Simpsons have been through the years, there hasn’t been an overabundance attempts to convert the dysfunctional family to the video game screen (barring some of the PC point-and-click titles, Konami’s arcade beat ‘em up, etc.). THQ, however, is preparing to bring all five family members – Bart, Homer, Maggie, Lisa and Marge – to the world of portables with The Simpsons: Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror on the Game Boy Color.

Following in the footsteps of the Halloween episodes of The Simpsons each October, the family is telling each other stores up in the treehouse when an evil force sucks their souls from their body, and are brought to the Treehouse of Horror, a dark place where each day is Halloween. The entire family is trapped at the bottom of the tree’s trunk, and the only way to make it back to their own bodies is to climb up the tree and through its terrors.

Look for the following in The Simpsons: Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror when it arrives on the Game Boy Color later this month:

  • All 5 Simpson family members playable
  • 6 levels of wacky arcade action each featuring different Springfield locations and character specific objectives
  • Storyline follows annual Tree House of Horror episodes
  • All your favorite Simpsons characters featured in game including Principal Skinner, Moe, Krusty the Clown and more
