Namco debuted Dead to Rights II today at their E3 booth. The game continues the story of Jack Slate and players can expect the same violent action is a grittier package.
The E3 demo starts off in an outside city area. Like usual bad guys are lurking in the corners and Jack needs to take em out with a combination of weapons and dodging. The bullet-time is in full effect as Jack jumps every which way to take out bad guys. A forward slow jump gets even flashier as Jack twirls toward his enemy with guns blazing. The AI doesn't seem as difficult, which may please some players who had trouble with the first.
The visuals are darker and more subdued than the original. The bleaker outlook rings a more true picture to accompany the dark storyline. The graphics were a bit mixed. The frame rate was at 30 fps or less running on PS2, which slowed down the action a bit from its previous 60 fps outing on Xbox. The character models were about on par with the last game.
Jack will be back this fall on both PS2 and Xbox.
