I accept the fact that somehow a dead-obvious cash-in licensed game has shipped well past the darkest days of the 16-bit era. But I think you're crazy to make a game that rips off NBA Jam so deeply and soullessly. You see it as an opportunity to make a quick buck with a proven formula. But what I found out is that NBA Jam wasn't fun because it had stilted animations, had real athletes, rubberband AI, flashy presentation, or a general disregard for the way basketball is played. It was fun because Midway games, at the time, had a knack for making simple gameplay designs that were instantly accessible and immediately addictive.
