Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness
If you only buy one game this month, buy Wii Fit (for resale on eBay). If you can buy two games: also buy Penny-Arcade Adventures.
As every revision of a review I could come up with wound up taking the super-lazy approach of “if you're a fan, you'll like this game,” I have temporarily un-retired Haiku Review. Seriously, though, go to Penny Arcade. The game has crossover appeal between PA fans and RPG fans, but the most accurate litmus test will be to see if you like their humor in the first place.

Hey, Penny Arcade
It is now a RPG
With adventure, too

Gabe and Tycho lead
Created player follows
Into endless fights

Use rakes, fists, and guns
Even a cat and robot
Plus...a flamethrower!

Victorian theme
Steampunk undertones abound
Levels few, but good

Fighting system works
Something between D&D
And FFVII

Visually great
Low-poly, sure, with good art
Well done comic theme

Ron Gilbert aboard
Influence is seen throughout
Lucasarts love lives

Funny dialog
Lots of f-bombs, however
Note the M rating.

Game ends suddenly
But not before story is through
The end satisfies

Final scene teases
The next chapter of P-A
I hope it's longer.
