 Time Crisis Project Titan
Action! Richard Miller is back, but he's done this routine before.
It's been 5 years since Time Crisis hit the PSone. But Richard Miller is back in this year's Time Crisis Project Titan. The title is like Time Crisis 1.5 with a few upgrades and updates to keep the action fresh and fun.

Richard Miller is out to prove his innocence after he's framed for the murder of Caruba President Xavier Serano. He's chased by old favorites like Mad Dog and Kantaris through 4 levels with 4 sub-areas each.

The locales are more on the tropical side but the colors are a bit more drab than the first Time Crisis. Everything is modeled and textured well. There are a good amount of environmental effects as well. Shoot a plant and it shakes; shoot glass and it shatters, revealing more enemies. The character models jitter during cinemas for some reason - but maybe they're scared of Richard Miller comin' after them.

Time Crisis' trademark duck and shoot action is upgraded in Projet Titan with the ability to choose a different hiding spot. During duck mode an arrow pointing left, right, or both directions will appear. Shoot one and you'll crawl over to another safe spot. It happens only a few times in the game, but it's required to move to different spots to get rid of shifty bosses. Aside from the new, the action is just as fast. Enemies pop out from every nook and cranny and can be picked off as soon as they appear.

The music is a re-hash of Time Crisis tunes mixed in with some original scores to align with the new tropical environments. The same enemy quotes like, "Shoot him!" can also be found in Project Titan. The all-important gun blast is as loud as ever, and remains the most gratifying blast in videogames.

Time Crisis Project Titan is a fun ride that doesn't last long - about an hour. It's a nice upgrade, but shooters will have to wait for Time Crisis 2 to blast with a new magazine.
