 Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Disney Interactive scores with its latest adventure!
If you’ve seen the movie Atlantis: The Lost Empire then you’ll feel right at home here with the PSOne game. If you haven’t seen the movie, you’ll still get a very detailed story line complete with likable characters. I was honestly very surprised by the game, so I won’t waste time getting to the review.

Firstly, you’re probably thinking "Disney equals kiddy game" right? Well, that is maybe true on average, but I found myself actually enjoying it at all times. Atlantis: The Lost Empire really bridges the age barrier and allows for the gamer to be immersed in the gameplay. Everything is setup very simply, and the first part of the game explains the controls, and they are very functional. Controlling Milo Thatch could not have been any easier. They do tend to rip off Tomb Raider a little, but other than that, the controls are very fitting for the game. Every aspect of the gameplay from the beginning through the rest of the game, is very tight.

Graphics-wise, it’s right on par with the current crop of PSOne games. I only managed to find occasional pop-up/clipping here and there when navigating some of the vehicles later on in the game. Everything again was very clean and cartoon-ish on par with the movie's flow and feel.

With tight controls and exceptional graphics, there really isn’t much more to say about Disney’s Atlantis other than it has 4 vehicles, 6 playable characters throughout the game and 12 worlds to explore. The only draw back for the game would be that some veterans might finish it a little fast, but other than that, it is a top-notch game.
