 Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2
Hack'n slash 2... electric boogaloo!
You keep buying them, they'll keep making them. Yes, the most overrated and most sequel created series possibly ever, Dynasty Warriors, continues its hack and slash antics on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with none other than... Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2!

As expected typical with this series, your success ratio is dependent on how strong your button-pressing fingers are as this game requires a ton of mashing. I'm sorry if you are a fan of the series and don't quite agree with my analogies about the game, but I really feel that Koei hasn't really evolved the series beyond the game's initial release over 8 years ago. I much prefer the Kessen series, which has gotten literally no love from Koei or the fans.

So what can you expect from this outing? Well you get giant robots, you get very bland textures and environments, you get the chance to rack up hundreds of kills in one mission, and if you get tired of the single player missions, you can try your luck online by doing generally the same thing, but with real life players instead of CPU.

Now if you actually enjoy the monotony the Dynasty Warriors series offers, there is a ton of content to weed though as you get a great amount of pilots to choose from, each with their own storylines and upgrading options to make bigger and stronger Gundam Warriors. One thing that has always irked me about the series in general is that the game does provide a good number of combo moves, button combinations, and even finishers, but none of it is necessary or even rewarding to pull off, so why no just mash away at the attack buttons if the result ends up more-or-less the same?

A little side note I should mention is that fans who have grown tired of the American dubbed versions and have been watching the Japanese versions of the show will be disappointed to find out that there is no language selection, so you are stuck with the wonderfully delivered *insert sarcasm here* American actors portraying the parts. Even more puzzling is the option to do this was in the first DWG game, so why omit it in the follow up?!?!

In the end, it is hard for me to recommend Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 to anyone other than the hardcore fans of the series (either DW or Gundam) or anyone who just is a glutton for punishment. To me, it's the same old song and dance that we've endured for far too many years now. It's time for a change before you lose even your most diehard of fans.
