The PS2 is still hanging on by a small thread as it enters its 9th year of North American availability. Nevertheless, Sony will continue their promise of support for the system till year 10, and with the release of 3 more brand new sing star game may not be the God of War 3 that many who refuse to upgrade would hope for, it still is new product to the aging console. Of course by new, I mean new content, not an entirely new game. Counting this title, the SingStar brand has issued seven titles in the franchise ranging from pop to country, but this is the crème de le crème folks as you get nothing but legends on this disc. If you have ever loved, went to a school dance, or just had one of those "should've been in a movie" moments in your life, one of these songs would have surely fit the bill. - Aretha Franklin - "Respect"
- Barry White - "You're The First, The Last, My Everything"
- Black Sabbath - "Paranoid"
- Blur - "Parklife"
- David Bowie - "Life On Mars?"
- Depeche Mode - "Enjoy The Silence"
- Dusty Springfield - "Son Of A Preacher Man"
- Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong - "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off"
- Elton John - "Rocket Man"
- Elvis Presley - "Blue Suede Shoes"
- Jackie Wilson - "Reet Petite"
- The Jackson 5 - "I Want You Back"
- John Lennon - "Imagine"
- Johnny Cash - "Ring Of Fire"
- Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Sweet Home Alabama"
- Madonna - "Papa Don't Preach"
- Marvin Gaye - "I Heard It Through The Grapevine"
- The Monkees - "Daydream Believer"
- Nirvana - "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
- Patsy Cline - "Crazy"
- Pet Shop Boys - "Always On My Mind"
- The Police - "Roxanne"
- The Righteous Brothers - "Unchained Melody"
- The Rolling Stones - "Sympathy For The Devil"
- Roxy Music - "Love Is The Drug"
- Sam Cooke - "Wonderful World"
- The Smiths - "This Charming Man"
- Tina Turner - "What's Love Got To Do With It?"
- U2 - "Vertigo"
- Whitney Houston - "Greatest Love Of All"
SingStar Legends brings nothing new to the table, except new and fantastic tunes. The same great modes exist, the same use for the eyetoy exists, and the same fading grainy quality of the PS2 DVD versions of the videos exists.
If you are a Sing Star fanatic, then you will have little choice but to buy this collection of 30 songs to add to the ever growing list of Sing Star titles sitting on your self at the moment. Just expect the same routine with new songs and you will be pleased with the result. If you are ready for a new experience, you may want to finally upgrade to that PS3 now...you have my permission.
