Ah, the world of music. No other form of art can you bang tin cans together in an alley way and call it music. Everyone has a unique ear to what they like, from European techno, to Gothic Hardcore, to your pro to typical pop and rock songs, just like the people in the world, music is very eclectic and appeals to someone, somewhere in the world. This leads me to the latest of seven titles in the series in the Sing Star line for the PS2, SingStar Country. While many readers will ponder on the reasoning why the developers chose this genre to single out, if you look at the number of CDs sold year in and year out by a Country artist, you will see why Sony made this decision.
While I, myself, can't call myself a country music fan, I do appreciate older country music. Let's be honest, the stereotype of losing your dog, your wife cheating on you, and driving your pick-up truck are long gone from today's brand of country music. Oh wait, Chattahoochee's on this list, sigh, never mind. Here's the list of songs to expect, and sadly no Hank Williams or Hank Jr... what gives? - Alan Jackson - "Chattahoochee"
- Alan Jackson - "Good Time"
- Big & Rich - "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)"
- Blake Shelton - "Home"
- Brad Paisley - "Online"
- Brooks & Dunn - "Boot Scootin' Boogie"
- Brooks & Dunn w/ Reba McEntire - "If You See Him/If You See Her"
- Bucky Covington - "It's Good To Be Us"
- Faith Hill - "Red Umbrella"
- Gretchen Wilson - "Red Neck Woman"
- Jessica Simpson - "Come On Over"
- Jewel - "Stronger Woman"
- Johnny Cash - "A Boy Named Sue"
- Johnny Cash - "I Walk The Line"
- Josh Turner - "Another Try"
- Keith Urban - "Days Go By"
- Kellie Pickler - "Red High Heels"
- Kenny Chesney - "Big Star"
- Lady Antebellum - "Love Don't Live Here"
- Martina McBride - "A Broken Wing"
- Miranda Lambert - "Kerosene"
- Montgomery Gentry - "My Town"
- Montgomery Gentry - "What Do Ya Think About That?"
- Rascal Flatts - "Bless The Broken Road"
- Sara Evans - "Born To Fly"
- Taylor Swift - "Our Song"
- Terri Clark - "Girls Lie Too"
- Trace Adkins - "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk"
- Trace Adkins - "Your Gonna Miss This"
- Willie Nelson - "Pancho and Lefty"
While the features of SingStar Country are the same, that doesn't mean you can't add your own cowboy boots, spurs, and mechanical bull to the mix to have yourself a good old time. So open up that case of Milwaukee's Best (or whatever watered down cheap beer is in your area) form a line dance, and if you hear a yeeeee... please stick around for the haaaaaawwww!
