I wanna rock and roll all night and party everyday! This is what Singstar Amped is all about. Forget about Singstar Rocks and their radio/family friendly rock and roll, Singstar Amped kicks this song list up to an eleven with some hard hitting rock songs that will make your momma cry and your neighbors call the cops. Well, that may be a tad off kilter, but these are a pretty good bit of harder rock songs that will make you want to find the nearest groupie and show them what being a rock star is all about. Per usual, Singstar Amped allows you to sing along to music videos and depending on your accuracy and timing skills, you are awarded points. The one with the best score wins, we savvy? Singstar Amped brings you 30 more killer hits that hit a number of different decades, but all rock just as hard. Here's a glimpse: Alice in Chains- Would?, Blink 182- I Miss You, Blue Oyster Cult- Don't Fear the Reaper (needs more cowbell), Boston- More than a Feeling, Fall Out Boy- This Ain't a Scene, it's an Arms Race, Foo Fighters- Best of You, Motorhead- Ace of Spades, Nirvana- Come as you Are, Pearl Jam- Alive, Radiohead- Creep, Ramones- Blitzkrieg Bop, The Killers- When you were Young, and many more bone crunching, soul shattering hits.
As with Singstar 80's, you get the same treatment of options and game modes as the other previous games. You have your solo mode where you can be your own one man band and try to top your best performance, Pass the Mic modes that allow you to participate in a number variations, including Battle, Medley, Duet, and more, Party Modes, and of course Freestyle, for those who are too chicken to keep score or too drunk to care. Also with all Singstar products you are forced to use the Singstar brand mics, so if you haven't picked up a bundle with the mics, this is your starting point, then you can purchase the games separately. Lastly, I've said it once and I'll say it again, Sony please allow me to turn down the master vocal track so I can do my best Eddie Vedder impersonation. This is the 4th incarnation of the Singstar product in less than a year, so Sony is looking to hold onto this franchise for a while, and why not, it's a good party game with a terrific song list on each volume. Packed in with the thought of the PS3 version coming down the pipeline with downloadable tracks and Konami's Karaoke Revolution may have some serious competition after all. Singstar Amped is for you grungy rock and rollers out there, so show you love and scare the neighbors with your haunting melodies of death and love loss.
