 Sims 2: The Seasons
Finally, it's not all bright and shiny in Sim land... and that's a good thing.
The Sims series has been an addiction for many gamers for years now. In the past, you had the options to have kids and pets, change clothes, celebrate holidays, and even grow up and go to college. Now Sim fans acquire something they’ve been clamoring for since the incarnation of the series…ever-changing seasonal situations.

Living in Ohio, it can be fair to say I’ve seen my share of various weather situations. Heck one minute we’ll have the air conditioning on in the day, only to have to resort to turning on the heat at night. While the Sims weather climates aren’t so drastic, it is nice to be able to finally experience seasonal changes, which makes the series even more like real life than ever before.

Much like real life, your Sims’ mood will change much as the seasons do, they get depressed during rainy days, need to cool off in the summer, and even need to bundle up during those blistering cold temperatures of winter. It is not just a change of attitude either as your Sims will adapt to the changes, as will their hobbies and habits.

In the summer, you can throw pool parties while sipping on cool refreshing juices that will affect your Sims in a positive manner. During the winter, you can have snowball fights, build snowmen, or go ice-skating. During the spring, express your green thumb by giving your home a new look complete with a new arrangement of flowers and shrubberies.

It’s not all stats and menus either, the visual effects are fitting to the changes as the wind, rain, snow, hail, and heat waves all look stunning giving gamers a sense of experience like never before. Your wardrobe must change with the times as well, and the creators supply many outfits such as raincoats, summer dresses, earmuffs and gloves, and even winter coats to keep your Sims environmentally at peace.

If this were just a weather changing expansion pack it would suffice gamers, but EA has also included six new careers to go with your new lifestyles. Now your Sims can explore different careers to broaden their horizons with fields such as journalism, music, law, or even be a professional gamer.

This is the perfect expansion for those gamers who hate the real weather including the rain, snow, and sun. Now they can say they had a grand time sledding or skiing without the worry of frostbite. The Sims 2: The Seasons is one of the more expansive expansions and easily one worth your time and money.
