 TouchMaster
You CAN touch this!
Have you ever went restaurant or bar that had the Touchmaster touch screen games that allows you to play solitaire, Tetris rip-offs, and Mah Jongg? Well Midway has released a small collection of these games onto the Nintendo DS with all the touch screen goodness, and without having to wash your hands after playing from touching a chicken greased touch screen.

Touchmaster isn’t a game that will rack the brain, provide a deep story line, or even have you saving some helpless wench in distress. These 23 quick, yet addicting mini games will provide hours upon hours of high score beating goodness that screams “old school” and having you thirsting for a beer…if you drink that is.

A nice combination of card games, puzzlers, and skill titles round out this series of Touchmaster classics including; Solitaire, Power Cell, Uplift, Hot Hoops, Trivia, Word Search, Crystal Balls, Mahki, Mah Jongg, and many more games that will wear your stylus down to a little nub.

Not only can you play to better yourself, but you also have the ability to connect online through Wi-Fi to see if you are the best of the best in touching games (insert joke here). If you can talk a friend into owning this title as well, you can play two players head to head, but you do need two DS’s and two copies of the game.

Midway was one of the great kings of the arcade, and it is nice to see them show a little simplicity once in a while in such a complex graphic whore world. Touchmaster isn’t going to win any visual or technical achievements, but it is addicting enough to merit the 30 dollar price tag, and then some. Heck I know I’ve spent more in quarters at the Touchmaster screens than this game costs…so it is easily worth it. Now if a sequel is ever created I would like to see the mini-game that shows you two of the same photos, but one has things missing from them; Now that’s one addicting mini game. As is, this collection is diverse and plentiful enough to keep any one wanting to get a quick gaming fix in on the go. Just be warned…while the games are short in stature, you’ll find yourself playing them so much that it will equal the play time of any good RPG. Touchmaster is an absolute hit…’Nuff said.
