Screens Updated: 4/4/2003 Some detailed new screens of the new movie-based game.
Arr matey! Bethesda Softworks and Disney Interactive announced today Pirates of the Caribbean for the Xbox, PS2, and PC. An RPG inspired by the upcoming feature film will hit Xbox and PC this June, followed by the PS2 at a later date. The game is set to feature a large world where players can become a mercenary, a merchant, or a pirate. Additional wealth and experience lets players hire crewmembers, sail larger ships, and uncover treasure. Wind and water condidtions will affect how ships sail and battle, and day/night weather conditions will be found in the game. The first screens show a mix of action fighting, ship-to-ship battles and exploratory elements. Based on the success of Morrowind, Bethesda definitely has what it takes to create a massive RPG. We'll have more on Pirates of the Caribbean as it develops.
