Tradition and pride are not established overnight. Not only must you know how to win on the court, you'll need to properly strategize what needs to be done off the court. The missing link to a trip to the Big Dance might be just around the corner at the nearest high school... or that special player might be across the country. You'll need good assistant coaches to help you find these valuable recruits since recruiting isn't a one-time thing - it's a full-time process. As the only college basketball game to feature year-round recruiting, new recruits will be discovered every week, so don't let the next blue chip player pass you by. Email hot recruits, send assistant coaches for visits and to get the full feel for a player, you can even play as a recruit in a high school game. You'll be challenged to use your time wisely as you can't attend every prospect's games.

In ESPN College Hoops, it's all about school spirit. If you really want to establish pride for your school, start from scratch! ESPN College Hoops boasts one of the most impressive create-a-school modes ever as you can tailor your teams colors for both home and away uniforms, customize what type of arena you play in, select from various basket designs, cheerleader uniforms, mascots, and much more.

Finally, let's not forget about doing what it takes to earn extra credit; head on over to the Campus Store to access unlocked classic teams, alternate uniforms, and additional mascot teams. With each accomplishment comes more virtual loot!

College basketball is a team-oriented sport that requires deft passing, hard-nosed rebounding, and coordinated shooting to win. Each unit of the team has to be able to initiate the right moves, take advantage of an opponent's weaknesses, and watch for any openings that can lead their team to victory. In ESPN College Hoops, an important weapon to lead to the big "W" is the IsoMotion system.

Building upon what ESPN NBA Basketball demonstrated, IsoMotion has been enhanced and expanded in ESPN College Hoops to give greater control and creativity to gamers. Using the Right Analog stick, you can shift position in triple threat to fool opponents or while dribbling use the Right Analog stick to perform standing crossovers, jab steps and while in motion use different Left and Right Analog stick combinations to perform spins, step backs, advanced crossovers and more.

And with every high-offensive dribble action, there is an equal defensive reaction in the IsoMotion system. Defenders are not only able to use IsoMotion to prevent the easy drive to the hoop, to block passing lanes in the post, or take the charge on an overly aggressive ball-handler; in ESPN College Hoops, use the Right Analog stick to execute IsoMotion steals. If a ball-handler is holding the ball up high, press up on the Right Analog stick to swipe up at the ball. If the ball is dribbled low to the ground, press down on the Right Analog stick to steal low. With IsoMotion steals, watch the ball and use the proper Right Analog stick command to gain a greater chance at the steal.

There is a place in sports where players compete not for money but for pride, where every fan knows their team's fight song by heart, and where victory can be determined at the sound of the final buzzer. The purity and spirit of college basketball is unlike any sport; it's very easy to get caught up in the momentous emotion as rivals struggle for control of the court. ESPN Videogames is proud to bring the pageantry of the college basketball to gamers everywhere with ESPN College Hoops. Leading up to the launch of ESPN College Hoops, you'll get the first jump on what you can expect with ESPN College Hoops and with the veteran talents of ESPN commentators Mike Patrick and Jay Bilas, you can definitely expect the best commentary team in any college basketball game to date.
