Official new screenshots of the impressive Final Fantasy XI sequel.
Square Enix sent over a little official update for Final Fantasy XIV. According to the press information, these new screens "invite gamers into the vast terrain of Eorzea by showcasing the lands sweeping landscapes and rolling hills, as well as offers a sneak peak into the battle scenes, various monsters and equipment available in game." In other words, some new screenshots.
Also, the battle scenes on display in the new screens are "temporary", and are only meant to provide us with a look at how the scenes look.
A handful of actual, in-game screens of the game's environments to go along with the official Final Fantasy XIV site update. Adventure begins anew in the vast realm of Eorzea!
Final Fantasy XIV was in the works for a 2010 release on the PS3 and PC. This is the follow-up MMO to Final Fantasy XI, previously on Xbox 360 and PC.
It's planned for a simultaneous Global release with language support for Japanese, English, German, and French. The producer of Final Fantasy XIV is Hiromichi Tanaka, previously of Final Fantasy XI, accompanied with director Nobuaki Komoto (also from FFXI), art director Akihiko Yoshida from Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy XII, and finally music by the expected Nobuo Uematsu of just about every Final Fantasy ever.
