Everybody's Golf 3, otherwise known as Hot Shots Golf 3, is definitely coming along nicely and we can't wait to get our hands on the US version of the game (whenever it makes it over here). The developer this time around, is ClapHanz and not Camelot, so we were a bit worried as to if the game will retain the great play control, course designs and characters of the original games. So far, things are looking great however. The developer recently announced the features to be included in the game, and released several new screens.

The single player mode will feature many more characters, gear, courses and items. In general, gameplay has been deepened a bit with an expanded and more accurate power bar system and the ability to automatically chip in a shot which is close to the hole. The game will still cater to the casual gamers as well, and will allow "everybody" to just pick up and play.

Graphically, the game will run at 60 FPS, and use the PS2's emotion engine to give the characters "emotion", and to provide a realistic ballistic simulation level. While playing the game, time will pass from morning to evening complete with realistic time-of-day effects. Seasons will also change throughout a career. Already, the water effects and lighting look amazing, as do the cute big-headed characters and environments. The PlayStation 2 is certainly starting to hold up its end of the bargain in regards to graphics.

There has been some word of network features included, such as standard online play as well as golf tournaments, but how this functionality will be achieved, is still a bit up in the air.

We are definitely looking forward to the game hitting North America, especially if a full fledged network feature is included. The Japanese version will be available towards the end of July. Stay tuned for more information!
