Codemasters sent along the first media and information for their upcoming Club Football titles for the PlayStation 2. Club Football (Soccer to us North Americans), is not your typical sports title. Club Football will be released as 15 different games, each focusing on a single European club. For example, UK club editions include Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Leeds United, Liverpool FC, Manchester United and Rangers. A very interesting idea indeed. The Club Football development team has digitally recreated some of Europe's greatest soccer landmarks: the home stadium of each team. In the game, matches will be played in an exact replica of each club's stadium, recreated using architectural detail and photographic reference. The stadiums, packed with supporters in the teams' colors, will fill the arena with chants, songs and crowd atmospherics taken from real match days, specific to each club. Replay cameras, in addition to 10 different in-game camera views, will relay the action in television style.
