 Castle Strike
GA has some fun storming the castle, in this battle heavy real-time strategy title.

Coming this October is a title from the good people who brought you No Man’s Land and America. Both titles were cult sleeper hits, and by the looks of Castle Strike, it should follow their example. Set during the time of the Hundred Years War, it is your duty to storm the castles and take a foothold on your land.

What sets this RTS apart from most is that it will appeal to a broader audience who like a little more battling and a little less micromanaging. The game is straight forth and does not take long before you are in the thick of battle. Battling is not the game’s only vice as you get to build your own castle as well. If it is your dream to build a towering castle with sturdy walls and a view from as far as the eye can see, you can! That is if you have the men, resources, and weaponry to operate such a valiant effort.

Visually Castle Strike is very sharp and was a wide variety of vivid colors. For a 2D/3D RTS it is done rather well. Landscapes are vast and huge, with lush and large castles, plenty of acres of farmland with animals that survey it, and the player models are well designed and animated. The game allows players to fully control the camera, which allows for easier passage ahead. You control the camera in a full 360-degree motion complete with zoom feature. The weapons and the damage they bring are replicated quite nicely, as you choose from cannons, catapults, mortars, battering rams, and many more weapons that were used in that time frame.

Castle Strike offers 27 massive single missions to go through. Here you must have the best knight formations, organize the work force, build up your resources, strengthen your castle, hire for a great variety of combatants (archers, sword fighters, axe and spear throwers, and 10 more types to choose from), and seize the enemies castle. If the game was not compelling enough for RTS fans, you also are treated to a great multiplayer mode as well. Complete with a random map generator, you and up to three other friends can build your castle and battle until there is only one survivor left. The battles promise to be fast and heated for fans of click/twitch titles.

Castle Strike looks to hit US store shelves in October this year, and fans of RTS games and medieval fans alike will be on the look out for its arrival.
