Screens Updated: 1/14/2009 A few more locations revealed for the fireworks-themed DS shooter.
Based around filling the night sky with brilliant bursts of fireworks to take out encroaching enemies, Big Bang Mini will be released for Nintendo's handheld this Winter. Big Bang Mini's main objective is to use the stylus to create fireworks in order to deal with waves of enemies that loom overhead. Miss and you'll be forced to tackle another challenge - avoiding falling sparks created by your missed explosions. The end of each level comes with a unique opportunity for would-be fireworks designers to make the 'Final Bouquet' – a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that will proclaim your victory. With over 90 levels to complete, Big Bang Mini offers players huge scope for its special brand of fireworks fun. HONG KONG: Viewed from an aerial perspective of Hong Kong's nighttime skyline, the bright neon lights of the city create a futuristic setting for Level 1. The skills you learned in the tutorial are all you need to progress through Level 1 and defeat the Chinese Statue boss. Watch for clouds that can block your shots. Aim for the balloons that the enemies hang on to. The end boss has four forms, watch out for the homing bullets he fires. AURORA: Set near the North Pole, the Aurora World adds gusty winds to the mix that can blow your fireworks off course. If the sparks and bullets become too thick, create a vortex to suck them in by drawing a spiral with your stylus. Use this temporary upgrade as you make your way through the all of the world's levels to the Rock n' Roll Walrus boss. Keep your eyes on the snowfall to determine the wind direction. Using the Vortex will also absorb your debris, allowing you to fire at will. Certain ice blocks can be shot at, or can be shattered with a tap of the stylus. During the boss battle, watch out for danger from the bottom of the screen. World Upgrade: Vortex: Quickly draw a spiral on the touch screen to create the Vortex. Use it to absorb enemy fire when the going gets tough. Remember to let it recharge between shots. Also, upgrades, permanent or otherwise, cannot be used during boss battles! KAMAKURA: In the watercolored ghost village of Kamakura the darkness plays a role. Walls will close in on you from the sides and the only way to hold them back is to create bright light by defeating your enemies. Hold either the L or R button while firing to activate your first permanent upgrade, the homing missiles, to make the job easier. Although, the homing missiles aren't available when fighting the Skeleton Marionette bosses. Defeating enemies is the key to keeping the walls at bay. Some enemy fire will obscure your touch screen, be careful. "!" signs always mean danger will be coming from that direction. Defeat the skeleton marionettes to reach the puppet master. Permanent Upgrade: Homing Missiles: Hold either the L or the R button and tap the touch screen to fire the Homing Missile. The missiles are good for taking down fast moving enemies, but are weaker than standard shots.
