The GameCube isn’t exactly overflowing with untouched imports, but Eidos Interactive’s Fresh Games label dug around and found Swingerz Golf, a unique, Hot Shots Golf-esque sports title to bring over. Arriving in the fall, Swingerz Golf is anything but a hardcore golf simulation, but can be enjoyed whether you’re picking up the controller and you’ve never played a game of golf in your life or your skill is the equivalent of Tiger Woods. It’ll be interesting to see how well Swingerz Golf shapes up compared to the widely praised Hot Shots Golf series, but based on features alone, the title is well off: - Tee-up on 6 courses featuring diverse terrains from a red-rock cactus-filled desert to a classic English course with deep rough and pot bunkers.
- Compete with 14 offbeat golfers, each with distinct personalities and golfing abilities.
- Take advice (at your own risk!) from a crew of 6 fast-talking caddies.
- Master multiple modes of play for 1-4 golfers including Tournament, Stroke, Match and Short Course. Put your skills to the test against challenging weather conditions like strong winter winds and tropical rainstorms.
- Experience realistic golfing physics with Swingerz’ smooth analog swing system.
- Enjoy mega-fun golfing action with addictive mini games such as “Nearest the Pin” which is played on a nine-hole, par-three course.
- Win tournaments and beat rivals to upgrade your golf gear.
- Earn your bragging rights by saving once-in-a-lifetime shots to showoff to friends.
- Simulate a realistic golfing situation by turning off gauges such as wind speed and hole distance. In multi-player mode, character skill levels can be equalized allowing everyone to compete on a level playing field.
- Swingerz’ ease of play will appeal to the novice gamer while its depth will challenge the expert golfer.
