Of the more interesting projects scheduled to hit the GameCube in 2003, Product No. 3 has all the makings of a potential blockbuster hit. It's in development at Capcom and directed by famed Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami. The game is a departure for Mikami since it takes place in a futuristic setting, complete with robotic sentries and massive hover tanks. The game stars Vanessa Schneider, a freelance mercenary who kills robots upon her client's request - no questions asked. She has a dark and twisted past, one that involves her family being killed by the CAMS (Computer Arms Management System) and she's out to get even. The CAMS has gone haywire on the planet and is turning a colonial settlement into a killing field. It's up to Vanessa to get her revenge once and for all.
Looking a bit like Blizzard's upcoming StarCraft Ghost, Product No. 3 will allow Vanessa to dodge and weave through the heavy barrage of enemy firepower coming from the continuously transforming mechs. To complete her task she must use all her tactical skills and gadgets to turn the killing machines into scrap metal. Gaming Age reported the announcement of this game back in November and we're pleased to show some more screens of the futuristic action game. We'll continue to update with new screens and information as it becomes available.
