One genre that has been slightly lacking from the GBA's already impressive library is the presence of more puzzle games. Games like Super Puzzle Fighter and the classic Tetris have always found a way into people's heart; and Metro 3D's latest announcement hopes to find its way there as well. Gem Smashers takes place more than 12 millions years ago, when the earth was populated by prehistoric beings that lived in harmony and peace, and respected all races. Each lived in a different habitat, cultivated their traditions and maintained hospitality for centuries.
However, peace and tranquility didn't last forever. A wicked scientist named, IBMU, discovered the planet earth and realized its potential as a power source for his own civilization. Coming to earth with his henchmen, IBMU and crew proceeded to capture all of the inhabitants. Placing all of the peaceful populace of earth in crystal prisons, so that he can examine them and unlock the secrets of their powers. Miraculously, three creatures escaped. BAU, BAM and BOM, these three must free all of their friends and family; the fate of their world solely depends on them. FEATURES: - Three different playable characters: BAU, BAM, and BOM
