Nintendo announced today that it would introduce a point reward system for consumers who purchase the company's products. Like a supermarket club card or frequent flyer system, consumers will accumulate points to redeem for as of yet unannounced rewards. President Satoru Iwata also stated that the company would reveal a new game product in in spring 2004. The product could be a new Game Boy product to counter Sony's PSP, but nothing more was revealed at this point. He also reinterated that a new next-gen system that would launch in 2005 or 2006. On the game development side, a new GC title, Made in Wario, will be released in October, a new Donkey Kong is in development at Namco, and a new Zelda will come out next fiscal year.
