Lupin the Third was on display at the Bandai booth at E3. The game is based on the hit cartoon series currently running on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network.

The title is a spy-action adventure, with MGS style elements and its own original play. The first level involved Lupin on board a train and searching for a golden globe (not that kind) that contains a special key card to get to the next area. While on the train Lupin has to hide in box, which can be done by holding down on a button. A man walks by the area and accidently drops his key. Once he's gone you pick up the key and lock the door behind the man, locking him in.

Lupin then sneaks Snake-style in the train hallways. Press the select button and you'll see a list of current disguises. Lupin happens to have a policeman disguise that he can use to blend in with the other officers on the board the train. To keep from being noticed you'll have to salute the other police officers. For some reason, after a salute the other policeman still noticed me. The disguise automatically disappears and Lupin will just have to take out the baddies with his tranquilizer gun. The R trigger readies the gun while a face button fires.

When Lupin searches the train rooms he comes across a note he can use to unlock the golden globe and gain access to the key card.

Lupin the Third is visually vibrant and striking. The game is not cel-shaded but the flat textures do a fine job of reflecting the anime. The characters also animate like their series counterparts. The control was a bit loose on the Lupin character, and the globe puzzle 8 seperate switches in order to open - a bit tedious.

Lupin the Third is plenty fun and will hit stores this November.
