In case you were busy sleeping (like the rest of us), Microsoft released a nice batch of Xbox One info from Gamescom 2013 this morning. While they aren’t having a realy conference like Sony, they still wanted to get the word out.

The big announcements were tied in with exclusive content deals for games such as FIFA 14, The Divison and Call of Duty: Ghosts, and they also revealed the ID@Xbox independent developer program. Fable Legends was revealed too, as were some new pieces of Xbox One functionality. Euro pre-orders will also receive a digital copy of FIFA 14 bundled in (while supplies last?).

Check out the Xbox Wire posting here or below with the full announcement.

Expect more coverage soon, so stay tuned.

Today at gamescom, the world’s biggest gaming show in Cologne, Germany, the Xbox team shared a range of new announcements designed to show gaming fans why Xbox One will be the best place to play games this fall.

With exclusive announcements with some of the most hotly anticipated titles, including new content for EA SPORTS “FIFA 14” only on Xbox; a new co-op mode for “Call of Duty: Ghosts”; the premiere of “Fable Legends” for Xbox One; and the unveiling of the full launch lineup of games for Xbox One; the Xbox presentation at the Xbox Showcase was jam-packed with news. Xbox also unveiled new launch bundles for Xbox One in Europe, including the news that all pre-orders of Xbox One will ship with “FIFA 14” in Europe.

The team shared details on a new program for independent developers, called ID@Xbox, which enables game developers of all shapes and sizes to build, publish and sell their games digitally on Xbox One. Following the presentation by Xbox VP’s Phil Harrison and Phil Spencer, the crowd was offered hands-on gameplay with hotly anticipated Xbox One blockbusters, including “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Ryse: Son of Rome,” “Titanfall,” “Kinect Sports Rivals” and “Killer Instinct.”

At the Xbox Showcase event, Harrison and Spencer shared a range of announcements that showcased why the biggest blockbusters are better on Xbox One, including:
Only on Xbox can you play “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team – Millions of “FIFA” fans are eagerly awaiting “FIFA 14,” the next game in the best-selling sports franchise. This season, legendary footballers will be playable in “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team – only on Xbox.  Fans will be able to craft their “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team with a mix of legendary players playing alongside today’s football stars on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Joining Xbox and EA SPORTS Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Bilbey on stage to make the announcements, superstars Freddie Ljungberg and Ruud Gullit were confirmed as two of the first Legends to join “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team.  Throughout the season, additional Legends will be introduced to “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team. And, all pre-order Xbox One consoles in Europe this holiday will include a digital version of a blockbuster game – the first of these bundles will be “FIFA 14.” All pre-orders to date and orders from today will include “FIFA 14,” while supplies last. More info on FIFA 14 and Xbox here.

With new co-op mode, exclusive multiplayer features and downloadable content, “Call of Duty: Ghosts” will be best on Xbox One: The award-winning team from Infinity Ward unveiled a new co-op mode, “Blitz,” for “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” Mark Rubin, Executive Producer at Infinity Ward, took to the stage at the Xbox Showcase to announce “Call of Duty: Ghosts” on Xbox One will use Xbox Live Cloud hosting to provide dedicated servers for multiplayer matches, ensuring the best multiplayer experience will be on Xbox One.  And, gamers will get all downloadable content for “Call of Duty: Ghosts” first on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Xbox is also teaming up with Activision and Infinity Ward to create an exclusive “Call of Duty: Ghosts” bundle across various European markets when the game is released in November.  The bundle will include special bonus content, exclusive to Xbox One.  Tune in to Xbox Live this Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 11:00 AM PDT (18:00 GMT) for a world premiere of the game’s multiplayer. More info on Xbox and “Call of Duty: Ghosts” here.

Exclusive content for Xbox One from “Tom Clancy’s The Divison”: In partnership with Ubisoft, the team announced that “Tom Clancy’s The Division,” will bring exclusive content to Xbox One.  Specifically designed by the Ubisoft teams to deliver a next-generation experience, “The Division” is a gripping open world game that sees a classified unit of tactical agents fighting an epic conspiracy and combating the effects of a devastating man-made virus which sweeps through New York City.

Xbox One Premieres “Fable Legends” and Blockbuster Launch Lineup: Microsoft Studios debuted a brand-new exclusive for Xbox One: “Fable Legends” from Lionhead Studios.
