Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is officially making the jump to the next generation with a PS4 release in 2014. While the game is still beta testing on the PC and PS3, players will be able to pick up on the PS4 where they left off on the PS3 if they choose to do so.

Square Enix Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today announced that FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is in development for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, and is due to release in 2014.
We are currently in talks with Sony Computer Entertainment to ensure that players who purchase the PlayStation 3 version of the game will be able to smoothly transition their game accounts to the PS4 version upon its release.

The PlayStation 3 system and Windows PC versions will enter the third phase of beta testing on Friday, June 14th, and are due for global release on August 27th. A free 30-day trial is also included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $12.99.
